What's your flava?

People love it when I put up pictures related to Pakistan. I've been meaning to do that for quite some time. The thing is I wanted to go with a theme. So it took a while for things to take shape. Karachi and Lahore are home to some very trendy restaurants. That offer Pakistani as well as other delightful cuisines. Here are some of them:

Avari Towers

Aylanto Cafe

China Town

Kahva

Aqua Lounge (Seafood)

Here are some that I have actually been to:

BBQ Tonight

This place serves up some tasty morsel of meats. If you want to fire up your taste buds try the tikka. Highly recommended.

Lal Qila

Modeled after a historic fort (the name literally means Red Fort). They have a guy at the door dressed up like the Sultan's guard to greet you. This place offers a cozy environment and the food is fantastic.

The Village

Modeled after a quaint Sindhi village. The atmosphere is very relaxed. You can’t help unwind as live musicians softly play traditional melodies using flutes and tablas.

If you’re just looking for a bite to eat check these out:

Gelato Affair

Nirala (Traditional Desi Sweets)

If you’re feeling adventurous check out Purple Haze. They have a well stocked sheesha bar. Not that I would know anything about that!

Hungry now.

Looking for flights to Islamabad.

Most of those - except the bbq place - look like restaurants we could find in a US city. The bbq place looks pretty exotic, though. :)

yeah that's the funny thing about Pakistan there's either abjunct poverty or ritzy glamour. Which is bad because it polarizes society. of course I tend to forget about the have-nots while dining.
