The police academy has been restored order has been brought to the city of Lahore yet again. Now let's see how the newly recovered justice department deals with the miscreants. And let it be known the prison reform system sucks in these parts so you're better of dead. Did anyone say fanfare, I didn't but the new guys on the block most definitely did.

KaaaKe!

And no, Kashmiris weren't put on this earth to be cannon fodder.

It's F.B.O. Faaah buuuu, be kind

Lahore is under attack and this guy can't work cause and effect dictates that those kids around him can't get any bread hence they remain poor hence they'll do just about anything to survive, except for asking for it.

As a member of the IEEE Computer Society I get to know things waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before any of you folks do. That makes me happy. Generally speaking I like to be happy and have decided to be happier from now on. Therefore here is something that I am willing to share with you folks. ehhhh...righty-o.

DILBERT!!!

This makes me teary eyed...

Sir,
I would like to join CRUC as a member. As far as my introduction is concerned I am Talha Bin Masood, currently working as a Product Manager / Business Analyst at Softech Worldwide LLC for the product Ultralearn.com. I have been in the software industry since Dec, 2005, on different positions in different companies.

I have always had a keen interest in research and development but due to some reasons I am not working in this field directly, although my job description as an Analyst is very much related to research. I joined FAST last year for my MS and fortunately was offered a course "Adv. topic of HCI" which made my think again in the direction of my interest, specially i took a lot of inspiration from the personality of Dr. Zubair Sheikh. We did a bit of research and evolved new ideas during the course of study in for this subject. I did a project "Green Family Tree" which was highly admired by Dr. Zubair Sheikh and he asked me to continue my efforts on this project.

Fields of study like HCI, Augmented & Virtual Reality, Ubiquitous Computing, ambient intelligence and the others like that really make me excited and motivated to explore the worlds they possess inside them. I never thought about this in past, but now I want to do PHD in Human Computer Interaction and Usability Engineering or some related field of study in future (InshaAllah) .

Please accept my request for membership, so that together we explore new horizons in the field of research.
Thank you.

Look what I found...

All the children of the world..........

15 Minutes of Silence.

Please take a moment to remember efforts made by UNICEF the world over
Take a moment to remember your loved ones
Take a moment to remember happy days
Take a moment to remember LK & BK
Take a moment to remember

Tomorrow, Friday 3/20/09, we take the UCF blogs offline for the day. Sort of a moment of silence. We each post something along the lines of:

Yesterday, one of our members suffered a terrible personal tragedy. Out ofrespect for her loss, the UCF member blogs will be offline today. Our thoughts and prayers are with her. We will return tomorrow.

I'd like to share a story from my past. The year was 1996 my Uncle died from a suspected heart attack. Various family obligations caused him tremendous amounts of grief. Plus he smoked, ate raw tobacco and ate fatty foods. He was a lover of fine arts, he taught me the meaning of "Eat, Drink and be Merry". I just hope me, my family, my relatives, my associates, my friends all leave a legacy which they can be proud of. I want to look back on my life and be glad that I tried where others failed, soared where others ducked, Drank from the elixir of life where others shunned the miseries of death. My nuclear family warmly recommends Disney's "The Lion King". God speed to us all.

Get your geek on!

I like.
Description of poll:
With 113 choices, the list of logos to choose from is rather large and not included here.
You can view the list of logos at a separate page.
This is the first round of choosing a new Haskell logo. Depending on the outcome of this voting round, there might be other rounds for choosing a specific variation.
Please make sure you understand how Condorcet voting works. The CIVS website and wikipedia have plenty of information.
